The Green Mountain Academy is Vermont Wing’s summer leadership program for Civil Air Patrol Members. Our program is an 8-day event every July where members can focus on building leadership skills and aerospace education in a “military style” environment. Our cadet-focused program is intended to allow cadets to learn to lead in an environment where it is safe to fail. The hallmark of our program is that it is entirely cadet led and closely supervised by a team of specially trained adults. Our senior member-focused program is intended to allow senior members the opportunity to learn in a completely hands-on environment. The Academy is held on a Military Training Facility so all participants will have the opportunity to interact with members of multiple services. We also work in partnership with the Vermont National Guard.
The Academy consists of 3 separate programs: a Basic Encampment, an Advanced Training Squadron, and a Cadet Programs Academy. please click below for more information on each program.
