Vermont Wing Commander
Vermont Wing Commander Colonel Brian Benedict
I joined CAP over 24 years ago & it has been a very rewarding experience.
I have had the honor to serve NER, NYWG and VTWG, RIWG, & PAWG serving in many roles. Most recently as North East Region Standardization and Evaluation Officer, plus as the Assistant Director of Safety NER as well. I hold Master ratings in Stan/Eval and Admin and Senior ratings in Aerospace, Safety and Command.
I was honored to have served in command of a composite squadron for 9 years, then moving on to D/CC at group before being asked to take on the various DOVs assignment in numerous wings.
Over the years it has been my pleasure to have served in 17 Powered Flight Academies, first as IP then as IP and assistant Director. We became an NCSA two years ago converting from the NYWG Flight Academy.
I also hold several Emergency Service ratings and have completed the senior member training and obtained my Level 4. It is my plan to begin working on my Level 5 as time permits.
I believe the impact we have on the lives of our cadets in a positive way is immeasurable & that keeps me motivated!
