Color Guard Competition

15 March 2008 will be the annual Color Guard competition held at the Vermont Air National Guard base from 0930 to approximately 1600.  Teams are to use Chapter 2 of CAPM 52-4 - National Cadet Competition, which can be found below.  Each team needs to bring a U.S. flag (mandatory) and a squadron or CAP flag with stands.

There will not be a panel quiz, but I will be including questions from the aerospace modules on the written test.

• Click HERE for the National Cadet Competition Manual.  Chapter 2 relates to the Color Guard Competition.  There will not be a panel quiz.  All topics for the written test are in the manual, including Aerospace Education questions.  The winner will go to the Region competition during Memorial Day weekend.

News

• From 1 December 2007 until 30 September 2008, Vermont Wing Headquarters will be sponsoring a CADET PARTICIPATION INCENTIVE CONTEST.  During this time, Vermont Wing Cadets may earn points for each CAP meeting or activity in which they participate.  Points will be documented on a form that must be signed and dated by the Squadron Commander (or designee) or the Project Officer at each meeting or activity.  At the end of the time period, the cadet with the most points will be presented with a NEW APPLE 80G IPOD.  The point values are on the top of the contest log form.  Click HERE for the form.
   
• VTWG will be sponsoring a recruiting drive for cadets and seniors from 01 DEC 2007 until 01 APRIL 2008.  There are two categories: Cadets and Seniors.  Credit will only be given for new members (cadet or senior) who join between these dates.  Your squadron commander must certify your total and you must have recruited at least two new members to qualify for the prizes.  This is open to any member of the wing except for the following: wing commander, vice commander and wing administrator. These are the prizes: 

  CADETS - Cadets who recruit the most new members (must recruit at least two new cadets or seniors) will receive:

  • 1^st Place:  Free attendance at summer encampment (Registration) and membership renewal.
  •  2^nd Place: $50.00 in merchandise from CAPMART (Vanguard).
  • 3^rd Place:  $25.00 in merchandise from CAPMART (Vanguard).

  SENIORS - Senior Members who recruit the most new members (must recruit at least two new cadets or seniors) will receive:

  •  1^st Place:  $50.00 in merchandise from CAPMART (Vanguard) and membership renewal.
  •  2^nd Place:  Choice of either $50.00 in merchandise from CAPMART (Vanguard) OR membership renewal.
  •  3^rd Place    $25.00 in merchandise from CAPMART (Vanguard).
